"What objections can the other states have?"

Its all about money and power. The two entities that make the most off of illegal drugs are the criminal justice system and drug dealers. We have over 2 million people in prison here in the U.S., about half on NON-violent drug offenses. If one was a member of the criminal justice system, why in the world would one want legalized drugs? If one were a drug dealer/importer operating in the black market, at black market prices, why in the world would one want legalized drugs? Also in the equasion are the tax agencies like the Internal Revenue Service. Drug money cannot be traced, therefore, no income tax. Like I said, its all about money and power.
