'Hydro' is not a grade either. It is a name for a style of growing.
It is important because calling something 'hydro' or 'dro' is effectively meaningless. You can have fantastic hydroponically grown plants and you can have shitty hydroponically grown plants. The fact that a plant is hydroponically grown does not necessarily indicate quality.
Also, some people confusingly speak of "dro seed." This has even less significance, since all that matters about a seed is its genetics.
