It still doesn't look like you know what the word 'strain' means. A strain is a particular genetic lineage-- as in descent. If your great great great grandfather was a Johnson, then you will also be a Johnson. It doesn't matter whether you were corn-fed or malnourished-- you are a Johnson.
There are places called 'seedbanks' that breed and preserve specific genetic lines. To the extent that they are careful and document the heritage of their seeds, their strain names have meanings.
'Regs', 'Mids' are generic names for levels of quality. Not strains.
'Hydro', and 'dro' are abbreviations of 'hydroponic', which is a name for a style of growing.
