If it's for personal use and it's your first time (or so you say) you'll get a nice slap on the wrist. Also having a criminal record definitely won't help. 7 1/2 years max if you plead guilty.. But for 8 plants I doubt you'll get any serious time.. Start buffing up just in case though :P.
