That's funny, I did the EXACT same thing today - I bought a prepaid Visa for $300 at Walgreens, then realized you had to give all your info to activate the thing, plus pay $15 to activate, and $15 a month. I activated it and when I did they also gave me an ATM pin. I plan on withdrawing all the money as soon as it comes in and then closing the account before I get charged again. I went back to Walgreens and got the Visa gift card instead. Its different than the pre-paid one and comes in fixed denominations. You don't have to give any info and you don't have to activate it -- just like a regular gift card. I wish I would have seen your post earlier!
