I've got a glass enclosed reflector so the lamp air is isolated and is vented out.
According to your sketch its not vented out. In order to 'vent it out' you need to have some new air to replace it. Put a seperate intake on the other side of the light. Now you have air movement and a cooler light. Maybe you have this and just forgot to show it.

So i'll need another exhaust for the ambient air. I got a 4" exhaust fan last night and will probably put it in the middle of the closet....perhaps you recommend it goes on top too?
Since hot air will rise it does make sense to give it a place to go. Don't piss in the wind, turn around.

Then I'll have a regular fan blowing air from the outside and on the plants.
With the addition of a line to draw cool air through your light you will have it right. VV
