if you want a ppm/ph meter and don't want to spend too much, go with the milwaukee sm802. Make sure you keep the probe clean and you won't have to calibrate it for a yr(my hydro guy said so) if its dirty brush it with a toothbrush. There was one on ebay for 150, i brought mines for 200.
