You must find away to exhust the hot smelly air outside. That is the best way. Buy a bathroom exhust fan $20- $60 bigger the better. then get ducting out a window some how. This is what I do and I have zero smell in my small one bedroom apartment.
The exust fan will do two this
1.Get all the smell outside
2. cool the closet
If you can pull that off then your golden brother!
