Home Depot, Lowe's, places like that, have Kellogg's Patio Mix. It has worm castings, bat guano, sea kelp, etc. We use it to start our plants.
A few years ago, we were given two baby plants late in the season. We put a bag of Kellog Mix on our deck, poked a few holes in one side and split it down the middle on the other. We put the two plants in the bag and let them grow. Never added anything except water. They only got about 18" tall but they were bushy and we got almost a QP from the two.
These did have a short grow season so I don't know if you would eventually have to add nutes.
