They threw it in a trashbag and weighed the whole thing: roots, soil, trunk and all  They say it came out to just over 8 lbs. Damn. Sorry to hear that. I am also a Texas resident, just got my degree, wll be going to grad school shortly - so your story sounds terrifying. I hope everything will work out for the best for you though and that our state will become more lenient towards non-violent first time offenders.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you get caught? I only ask because eventually I would like to have a very small grow for myself and obviously would like to avoid ever dealing with the legality of my choice.
