SO here I have my compost tumbler bin in place. I found that the worms do not like to stay in the tumbler due to the heat inside the bin throughout the day. No biggie though as the tumbler has produced about a gallon of compost so far, this in just one week...

Guess that means a DIY vermicompost bin tutorial is in order.

I have a pre tumbler compost pile where I let all of my garden clippings cold compost until there is room in the tumbler for the high heat composting. The bin really gets hot an humid inside. No rotten smells and a real rich earthy aroma going on so It is working great!!! Tons of aerobic bacteria and no pest to speak of.

check out my pics:
  1. set in place
  2. lid open
  3. full tumbler
  4. close up of compost in tumbler
  5. accumulated compost
  6. pre-tumbler pile
This will be mixed into a soil similar to subcool's.

Nothing better than growing plants produce by an organic grower using his own methods. Stoked!
