I really don't give two shits what it tastes like, as long as it's not reminiscent of anus.
I've smoked not 'excellent' tasting weed and have gotten thoroughly stoned. While the best tasting weed I've ever smoked was not the most potent I've had.
Potency has nothing to do with flavor. In fact, you could be losing potency to enhance flavor.
