I started my grow in the MG organic potting soil, and I hated it. It retains tons of moisture and can get compacted, so I suggest adding perlite to loosen it up a little. I switched to Fox Farm Ocean Forest and couldn't be happier.
Lots of people rip on Miracle Grow...and for good reason. But lots of people have success with it too. Just watch out for overwatering--it's a weed, and it needs the soil to completely dry out between waterings. Good luck
