I used a drill then a tin snip. Over the back of the fans is a cabon filter which stops smell and light. Just be sure and ground the can, if you ever broke a light or worst spilled water on one you would get zapped , not the buzz you ae looking for. I just took a 3 prong plug,used the tin snips and put black and white to the light and green to a screw and nut in the lid.

I have people near my setup all the time and no one knows.
