Default My Banana Tree is Sad :(

I received a banana tree as a gift a couple weeks ago. Since then i have been watering once about every two or three days but each time i water i give it a couple 16.9oz water bottles full of tap water. The only nutrients it has received are those in the soil that came with it. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong but the tree is definitely unhappy... Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
