i may be way off here but why such a huge grow space?
that could yeild massive amounts of " ".....the elctric company can measure where your light source is used mostly as well, perhaps and i'm not sure but that could be a HOT spot? they can detect wattage and time schedules for example if your friend is using a timer for 12/12 dead give away the time comes on at say ^ and goes off at ^....ya know :common sense: and for that size room almost a dead giveaway. So unless your friend is growing outside i would suggest a smaller room period! a three by three is plenty room for substantial grow.mylar helps in keeping areas cooler than say a nice coating of white paint.
