How are my plants doing? OMFG- They are now about one week away from harvest- In my opinion. About 10-20% of the pistils have turned orange. I have been reading from the book- The Cannabis Grow bible- By Greg Green.
I have one of those little microscopes from radio shack. In addition to this- Watch your plants daily. According to the bible- When 50-70% of the pistils have changed color- plants stop producing crystals-plants stop producing resin-The smell has reached a peak-bud mass has not increased in the past few days. 3/4 are of the type called FLO and are nearly 5+ weeks into 12/12. Only 10-20% of the pistils have gone orange on my plants. The plants are nearly 48" tall and are nearly at the top of the room I have given them in the closet. One is so tall that I put one of those tomato stakes up into it- It is becoming so top heavy that it started to fall over. I am growing all 4 females!!! under a 400 HPS.
Last week It was so hot that the grow room temps were getting near fatal. 100F!! The temperatures in Denver were near 100F! The plants did not show any signs of heat stress. They just simply failed to grow. For the last 4 days the temps have fallen- and I have cranked up the swamp cooler until the high for the day has been 80F!! Optimal growth conditions hello!!!
The bud mass is increasing. I don't want to cut them off too soon. I am watching them day by day. 1/4 is a Northern Lights that is about 14 days behind the other 3. It is a female too!! holy cow. What a grow! My first wall to wall 400HPS. I am in a state of total euphoria!!!!!!!
Thank You for all the advice I have received here. I have a BS in Genetic Biology but this has only started to help me grow in soil. The plant called cannabis! I just gave them a good dose of bone meal- not knowing that this is very important in flowering. (DUH)- I was thinking they needed N in flowering.
