I think you can presoak you miracle grow to get rid of the time release nutes. I'm not sure the exact procedure, I seen it on riu somewhere. I think you just keep it super wet for a couple days then flush it out good before you use it. You might also want to sterilize, mg is known for gnats. And add perlite, maybe some other stuff, check the organics section for additives.
