i dunno man, it probably depends where you live... last summer my AC went out and ran for 24/hrs a day basically, and it was an old shitty one... my power bill was $900 and nobody said shit except "where's my money?"... they really don't care wtf you do with it as long as you pay for it... they wouldnt even help me do anything to lower the bill, they didnt offer to send anyone to my house and look for electrical "leaks"... they are mostly cold hearted capitalists in the business of selling electricity... also, i changed billing plans at the electric co... there is one plan that the price per KW changes in summer and winter (in my area it was 3 cents per kw in the winter and over 12 cents in the summer, when you actually use it).. i changed to the fixed 3c plan, but i pay a higher connection fee per month to get it... basically, if i use no power, my bill will be $150, and whatever i use is 3c/kwhr after that... its a huge benefit, my 900 bill would have only been 300 with this plan, and thats about where i am every month now
