I think what he's trying to say is:
"Will a pollinated female produce 1/2 male 1/2 female seeds?"

It's a gamble...
Since there are only two possible sexes (not including hermaphrodites) it's obviously a 50-50 chance.

It could be 10/90, 20/80, 40/60...but the mathematical statistic is 50/50.
