Forgive me, I forgot the exact quote and who said it but....
Some philosophically minded folk
might say that old age and death is the price we pay for development and
growth, or even that the old have to die to make way for the young, to
clear the decks for change and progress, to carry on the work of evolution.

The most logical arguments wont work on these people because they can't believe it.
They've been taught the other way there whole life, it's hard to convince someone that
everything they've heard about cannabis is wrong. Sadly, maybe waiting is the only answer.

I've sent a bunch of facts and a list of signatures from my area to my state reps (Illinois)
trying to convince them that it should be legal. I only got 1 response and it was from
Judy Biggert, she didn't have all the false facts that your guy gave you but her response
was, in short, I do not agree with the decriminalization or the medical uses of cannabis,
it was good to hear from you, but I will not be convinced. That was said in a 8 line paragraph
but that was the point. I responded with "If you get voted into office from the people of the
state to represent them, then why do you not care about what the people of the state want.
You will not get my future vote and I will make it known to the people in my area that you
represent yourself and not the state. Thank you, for showing that my vote really doesn't count,
when the people you vote in change their opinion, and just don't care about what the voters
actually want."
If you can't tell, I was kinda annoyed. And of course I didn't get any response to my second
e-mail
