yeah... get a "soilless" potting mix
and then buy either some organic nutes (fish emulsion and worm casts and whatnot) or some chemical stuff (more control on amounts in soil) but there are arguments as to which to use http://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=...category&id=54

and yeah, ventilation!!!!! is key to keeping temps down... a fan on the air outake and a hole about twice as big for intake should help in keeping temps low (and remember, vent out on top, suck air in from bottom)

oh and about the nutes... you don't even need them for the first couple of weeks... then use whatever you buy at half recommended strength and then move up until you find what makes your plants happiest (we don't want to burn the fuck out of them with the nutes... one reason why some choose organics...)
