Teen Grows Pot On Deputy’s Property
Authorities in Ocala, Florida, say that a 17-year-old boy was growing
marijuana on empty property owned by the city’s deputy police chief.
Deputy Chief Greg Graham says that he was told about the plants by neighbors on May 5. He had bought the lot in March as an investment.
Deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office seized nine potted
marijuana plants on the lot.
A sheriff’s report states that a neighbor saw the teen in wooded lot on May 4. The neighbor said that the teen’s presence there seemed suspicious.
According to the report, the teen confessed to investigators that the plants were his and that he smokes weed. He also had pictures of the cannabis plants on his camera cell phone.
The teen, who was not identified, was charged with cultivation of
marijuana and taken to the county’s Juvenile Assessment Center.
