I'm sure glad they didn't have AIDS when I was young, crabs and Ghonorrea, some syphilis, but all could be cured with some penecillan or some blue ointment. I was lucky, only got crabs. No condoms for our age of sex pistols. Today, I'd be damned sure to wear one. Sex was pretty lax where I grew up, plenty of first date encounters.
