So I read through the information you gave me. I really like what the Animal Totems website said about lizards. But it makes me wonder, was my trip trying to warn me that I needed to change something about my life?
"When lizard appears in a persons life it suggests the need for immediate change in one or more areas of their life. This change represents letting go of outdated ideas, actions, or lifestyles because the old now endangers you in some way."
I felt that during my trip I was told that I needed to stop doing drugs. Which is odd, because I don't really do all that much. I smoke a lot of pot, but everything else I do in very strict moderation. And if that was part of my message, I almost want to ignore it because I feel that I still have much to learn from the mushroom as long as it's given proper respect.
I did find an interesting dream interpretation of bugs on this website Dream Dictionary Insects.
It says about bugs:
"(1) If seen as mindless automata, insects may symbolize either (your attitude towards) your instinctive drives or unconscious forces that seem to constitute a threat to the rule of reason. In either case, you probably need to overcome - or at least examine - your repulsion.
(2) If it is a solitary insect, it may be bringing a message from your inner self. That your inner self should appear in such a paradoxical guise or employ such a dispicable and unlikely ambassador is a reflection of your (very unwise) contempt for your inner self, as shown perhaps in the way you exclude it from your conscious life. (Remember the cricket in Pinocchio's adventures?) "
I feel like this could be a pretty good explaination on why I kept seeing bugs. My guess is, as the shrooms started to peak, I was having a hard time connecting with what my friends were saying and it was bugging me (get it?) which was causing me to see bugs everywhere because I was annoyed. Or maybe it's something deeper than that:
"Bugs are insects which may symbolize either your attitudes toward your instinctive drives or unconscious forces that seem to constitute a threat to the rule of reason."
Thank you very much Stoney for the myraid of information and resources in my quest. I really like what I read about the Animal Totem for lizard. I think that animal fits me and makes sense in context of my vision.
But my question is, do you really think I contacted any elder Indian spirits? It makes you wonder if perhaps my trip had an ultimate goal or message like you were saying. It was an awesome feeling when I came out of my trance, I felt like an Indian shaman who had just come back to reality to deliver a message to his people. I really felt enlightened and relieved as I started to come down.
