I have actually heard, and experienced differently. My plants did most of their verticle growth during the first two weeks of flowering. I had just repotted 5 days before and hit it with some serious nutes, but yeah....they got big =)

first pic is the day I started flowering and the second is 2 weeks and 2 days later

ok just kidding its the other way around
