I use a mh with hps for full spectrum, I believe this is a great way to do this. This current flowerings have been on 13/12 light, and I switched it to 12/12 for the last few weeks, Just cause I thought Id try 13/12. I don't think it did anything except make my power bill more.
I agree with Bongulator in that it probably makes no noticeable diff, its the strain, your lights conditions, and everythings else that makes thc potency 
The mh added with hps in flowering really does make denser nugs however
