The conversion bulb from MH to HPS is harder to find than the HPS to MH. Especially in the lowest watt category. So the bulb for conversion was $115. Based on the hefty pricetag, and the minimal 3 thousand lumen gain, we judged that it wouldnt be worth the money. Also, temperature is an issue in our room, and we do not have 6-10 degrees to spare for the HPS's heat.

It sucks, because in order to make the MH to HPS conversion bulb, you must sacrifice wattage.
That means when you buy a HPS conversion bulb for a 250 watt Mh system, the bulb is 220 watts. Which is why it only puts out 3 thousand more lumens than the MH. If in fact the HPS stayed at 250 watts, its gain would be much more beneficial.
