I hang mine until they are dry to touch (not snap yet) then pack them loosely in jars, which I store in a cool, humid area . . . opening the jars ( 5-10 minutes) and loosening the buds, twice a day, until the smell returns and the stems "snap" . . . at which time I consider mine "cured".
