That's not a stupid idea at all! In fact, I believe it works. You saw how my second two cuttings had two open wounds. I just didn't have the room, or the side branches required to dip both sides in rooting solution and placing them underground. That being said, be sure to update me on how it turns out! Do you have a link to a grow journal by any chance? It's never too late to make one. :P I use my cell phone camera, that's it.

I don't know what I'm going to do with them. I mainly just want practice so that once I decide to clone females I will be able to clone them effectively without having any die.
The strain is unknown, the Little Red Caboose is middlegrade bagseed from a frat house I went to a couple years back. The B6 is tupperware bagseed that I got from my friend, who got it from his friend, who got it from his dad (his dad apparently grows, lol). I could probably find out some time though.
