It's true that he officially opposed drilling in ANWAR. It is NOT true that he officially changed his position on ANWAR. In fact, McCain has taken a LOT of flack from the right precisely because he is perceived as unwilling to extend his new found desire to expand all domestic exploration & drilling to include ANWAR.
